But where will Pep pitch up next?

Bayern Munich have confirmed this morning that manager Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Spaniard is on track to win his third consecutive Bundesliga title but will head for pastures new this summer, and his previously expressed desire to work in the Premier League make England his likely destination.

Guardiola will be replaced at the Allianz Arena by the top manager otherwise on the market – Carlo Ancelotti – who has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid last summer and has signed a three-year deal with the German champions.

“We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club and hope to celebrate more success in the current season,” Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in an interview with German newspaper Bild.

“With Ancelotti we have another very successful coach coming to Bayern. We are looking forward to working together.”

Guardiola will have no shortage of suitors, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all potentially looking for a new boss before the start of next season.

City have long admired the Barcelona legend and are favourites to land the Champions League-winning coach, who could link up with former Barca officials Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano at the Etihad.

But Manchester United’s prolonged dip in form under Louis van Gaal will encourage United bosses to possibly sound out Guardiola, while Chelsea have already dispensed with Jose Mourinho and look set to have Guus Hiddink see out the rest of the season at Stamford Bridge.
