People finally have their hands on the FIFA 17 demo and they’re loving it

Roll on September 29

Like Christmas for children or transfer deadline day for Jim White, there’s a section of the population who will get ridiculously excited for a new FIFA demo.

For those people, the biggest day of the year came last night with the release of the demo for FIFA 17.

Imagine fulfilling any of your responsibilities when EA Sports put this in front of you.

Even sleep wasn’t important for a few people.

Naturally, with such high demand, anyone wishing to play the game was in for a bit of a wait as it downloaded.

It took so long that some people were even forced to watch real, live football, with humans whose activity they couldn’t control.

But at least Manchester City were kind enough to get their game postponed so fans could play with their table-topping squad on the demo.

As for the game itself, there a still a handful of real-life transfer deals which are yet to filter through.

Now, it’s only a demo, and a fuller-featured version of FIFA 17 will follow by the time of the full release at the end of the month, but people are clearly already impressed.

After playing a version of the game ahead of the demo release, we couldn’t help but notice how much smoother it was and how much of a difference the new Frostbite game engine was making.

Oh, and there’s a new juiced-up career mode to contend with once the full game drops in the UK on September 29 – not to mention ‘the journey’, of course.

The GAA Hour took their show on the road to Castlebar to preview the All-Ireland final with Colm Parkinson, James Horan and some very special guests.
