Raqui San Isidro are celebrating today

Vote for Pedro

While Manchester United are quietly sobbing to themselves having missed out on Pedro, a tiny club that plays in the Spanish fifth tier of football is popping the champagne.

If they can afford champagne that is.

Pedro’s €30million move to Chelsea was confirmed this afternoon despite weeks of speculation linking him to Manchester United.

The player is already at the Cobham training ground and that means a very hefty payday for his former side Raqui San Isidro.

The side, which is based on the island of Tenerife, is in a daily struggle to pay the bills, but thanks to the fact that Pedro was part of the club until the age of 17 before his move to Barcelona the tiny clubside are now swimming in cash.

Cash to the tune of €420,000 exactly which is a huge four times their budget

The money means that the club can now clear their debt entirely and will look to use the money to buy apartments to create a different source of income for the club.

They are now hoping that with the extra cash they can attract some better players and win this season’s local league, the Preferente in the Canary Islands.
