He stole the show today.
Manchester United were able to prevent their local rivals Manchester City from lifting the Premier League trophy today as they came back from a two-goal deficit to win 2-3.
Central to the comeback was Paul Pogba, whose quick-fire brace levelled the score just 23 minutes into the second half. Finishing off two slick team moves with excellent finishes, delicately lifting the ball over Ederson for the first and powerfully heading the ball past him for the second, Pogba displayed just what we all knew he was capable of, but has not been able to show with enough consistency.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Pogba heaped praise on his teammates, Alexis Sánchez and Michael Carrick for their part in helping him improve his end product.
“I know Alexis, he always tells me when I pass the ball, make the run. I give the credit to Michael Carrick, he is someone who helps me a lot, After training he says come look, you can kill, nobody can stop you”, Pogba said.
Sánchez played the key pass in the build-up to Pogba’s first, before Ander Herrera neatly knocked it into Pogba’s path, and also got the assist for the equalising goal, with a perfectly weighted cross from deep.
