Bright future.
We’re hoping that Anthony Martial can live up to the latest proclamations about his talent from France team-mate
Paul Pogba.
Not everyone is convinced that the 19-year-old, who moved to the club for a world record fee for a teenager, is all he is cracked up to be.
But that could be just pure ignorance of a player that not that many had heard of until last week.
So we’ll back someone who has slightly more experience of having seen Martial in action. Someone like Paul Pogba.
The Juventus midfielder played with the new Manchester United signing for the first time on Friday night as Les Blues beats Portugal 1-0 and the striker made his international debut.
Pogba feels that the forward will settle quickly at Old Trafford because he’s what everyone manager in the world dreams about – he’s the football equivalent of Ryan Tubridy.
“I call him ‘the young old man’ because he’s 19 and he’s already so mature for his age.
“I already knew him well, he has great ability and a huge amount of potential. He will bring a lot to the French team. I’m very happy for him, he’s changed clubs now, he’s in the Premier League where he will train with great players and will keep improving.”
We can just imagine that the striker wears corduroy, talks about property prices and is always on about the cost of childcare.
