Show me the money.
Paul Pogba’s agent isn’t slow anyway. He knows what sort of prospect he has on his books right now and he knows how much some of the big clubs would pay to prize the 21-year-old away from Juventus.
The French midfielder has been linked with the like of Chelsea and Manchester City of late despite recently signing a new contract with the Serie A champions but the former United player has got tongues wagging again with his comments to Four Four Two magazine.
Pogba, who spent three years at Old Trafford but just one with the senior team, reflected on his time under Alex Ferguson and admits that he was impatient as he manufactured a move away from Manchester.
“I’m impatient,” he said. “It was the feeling I had. The coach had faith in me but didn’t put me on. He said that I was too young. He said ‘your time will come’ but it never did. It didn’t come. But it does not mean I will speak ill of Manchester United. I love the club.”
Of course, the rumour mill goes into full swing with a slip of the tongue like that but Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, was quick to slap a price tag – a nice, juicy one at that – on his midfielder’s head.
“Is Pogba’s price tag around €80million? He is one of the most expensive players on the market,” he told Italian radio broadcaster, RAI Sport. “Considering his age, he has room for improvement and he is among the best. Of course, the asking price always depends on eventual buyers.”
In other words, if City are trying to buy him, add another zero onto that.
