Mino Raiola, God love him, is at it again
A summer barely seems to pass without everyone’s favourite Italian-born Dutch football agent trying to thrash out at least one silly-money transfer deal for one of his clients. And now, according to a report, he’s working to get Paul Pogba a move away from Manchester United.
Pogba has impressed for France during the World Cup, following on from an inconsistent season at Old Trafford where reports have claimed he’s fallen out with manager Jose Mourinho.
Some speculation has suggested the Frenchman may seek to leave Old Trafford for a second time this summer as a result of this strained relationship.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Raiola visited Barcelona’s training ground this week. And while the main purpose of the trip was to speak about some of his other clients and several youngsters on Barca’s books, the report adds that a possible move for Pogba to the Camp Nou was also discussed.
The Spanish champions are almost certainly in the market for a new midfielder this summer following the departures of Andres Iniesta and Paulinho, and so it’s probably no surprise to see them linked with a move for Pogba.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Veratti, another Raiola client, has also been linked with a move to Barca this summer, as has Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.
Pogba will start for France in the World Cup final in the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday afternoon. He’s expected to go on holiday after the game before joining up with United ahead of the new Premier League season.
