Pic: Irish manufacturers O’Neills have made a sweet new FC United of Manchester kit

Classy effort

Robert Redmond

Manchester United’s kit for next season has yet to be revealed, but we doubt it’ll be as old school classy as FC United of Manchester’s strip.

The club was formed ten years ago by disgruntled and disillusioned Manchester United fans, following the club’s takeover by the Glazer family, and the heightened commercialisation of the club.

Following a quick ascent through the English lower leagues, FC United will begin next season in the National League North, just tw0 levels below professional League Two, and in a brand new, 4,400 seater stadium in north Manchester.

They’ll also be wearing this classy effort by Irish kit manufacturers O’Neills.

The kit will be sponsor-less, keeping with the non-commercial ethos of the club, and O’Neills have made a seamless transition into making English football kits.

Manchester United will be paid a reported £750 million by German kit manufacturers Adidas for their new ten year kit deal. However, according to this BBC graphic, FC United aren’t exactly getting that type of deal with O’Neills.

We’re sure they’re still happy with their kit for next season though, and the ball’s now in Adidas to try top it with the new Manchester United kit.
