Have you ever seen a canary help a pigeon?
Well you would have seen just that this afternoon as Norwich played West Ham at Upton Park and a player turned hero as he took a feathered friend off the pitch.
The game that ended 2-2 was interrupted 10 minutes into the second half when an injured pigeon made it’s way into the middle of the game.
The bird, which looked to have hurt itself getting into the stadium, was unable to fly away and Johnny Howson stepped in to lift it up and take it over to the sideline.

As classy gestures go, it’s going to be hard to compete with this and everyone who saw it approved of the Dr Doolittle like Norwich man,
55: Sad news. A pigeon looks to be in a bit of trouble in midfield. Howson picks up the bird and takes it to the safety of the East Stand
