The move to Real Madrid is edging closer.
Neymar’s time at Paris Saint-Germain has been strange to say the least.
Don’t get us wrong, he’s done well there.
- 19 league goals in 20 games.
- 6 Champions League goals in 7.
- League title.
- French Cup title.
- League Cup title.
But France is at too low a level to test Neymar, and PSG’s willingness to indulge his demands means he has been able to pick and choose when he trains and plays. The move always seemed odd, as Neymar is one of the best players in the world, and he should be testing him at the highest level, even if it means he can’t be the main man.
Neymar might never be the centre of attention at Real Madrid but the move could happen this summer, as the Brazilian has apparently informed his teammates that he won’t return to Paris after the World Cup, according to Spanish newspaper, AS.
Neymar is said to have announced the news to his teammates at a dinner hosted by Thiago Silva, that other players like Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore and Marquinhos attended.
It means Zinidene Zidane is inching closer to assembling a new Real Madrid side with two other players rounding the rumour mill.
- Neymar
- Eden Hazard
- David De Gea
Gareth Bale’s future is still unclear in the Spanish capital whilst patience for Keylor Navas has worn thin. Madrid are expected to go big for De Gea again with Hazard’s arrival allowing Ronaldo to take up permanent residence in the centre.
