That, you would think, would be only applicable to the action on the pitch.
But for one Newcastle player today ahead of their clash with Southampton, it seems that cutting quite a dash off the field is also important.
Chancel Mbemba is set to make his debut for Newcastle at St James’ Park, and it’s clear that he’s not just your ordinary footballer who’s happy in his tracksuit and Beats headphones.
