A new study has revealed that the Premier League boasts 12 of the top 20 most valuable players in world football.
A study conducted by CIES Football Observatory has revealed that French forward Kylian Mbappe is the most valuable player in the world with an estimated transfer value of €252 million while Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (€219.6 million) and Raheem Sterling (€207.8 million) trail just behind him.
The Football Observatory based their rankings on an algorithm that takes into account factors such as age, contract status, position, game time, goals, international experience and club performance.
Champions League winners Liverpool have three players inside the top 10 (Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino) while Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane round out the Premier League’s representation among the top tier.
The Reds also have the top two defenders on the list in Trent Alexander-Arnold (€130.2 million) and Virgil van Dijk (€112.1 million) and the top goalkeeper on the list in Alisson Becker (€107.5 million).
