Adidas to release new Predator Accelerator, and it’s a real throwback

Michael Corry

Absolute boot porn!

We have all had the discussion before, what are the best football boots? There are so many out there, they take on a life of their own. More often than not, a brand name doesn’t even matter. Take our first pair for example.

The legendary Copa Mundial’s, made by Adidas.

Beckenbauer, Baresi, Platini… enough said! Absolute classics

Who can forget our next pair, we are calling these the Roy Keane specials.

They are of course the classic, Diadora football boots.

Then there is every GAA player’s favourite!

Back in the day, you would have been the talk of the club, coming out for pre-season in a pair of these Puma King’s. The best though saved them for summer football. No point wasting a classic in the shit and the mud.

Iconic

There is no doubt about it though, the world’s most iconic football boot is without a doubt the Adidas Predator.

Nothing has gripped footballer’s around the world than the allure of the Predator, made most famous by David Beckham.

Three years ago, Adidas announced they were discontinuing the iconic boot, much to everyone’s dismay. Tears were shed all over the world after the announcement.

The evolution of the boot throughout its 20 year run was simply incredible.

The Predator did indeed make a comeback for Adidas in 2017 much to the delight of boot heads around the world.

However, you would be hard pushed to find an old style Pred out there today, the website opts to sell only the newer version instead.

That was until Adidas launched the classic black, white and red original Predator Accelerator boot this month.

That is right, they are introducing the re-mastered version of the original Predator Accelerator for all you crazy boot fanatics out there.

Let’s just take a look at this beautiful boot.

This instantly recognisable classic should turn out to be very popular.

The boots are available to order on Pro:Direct this Thursday at 9am.

You are going to have to get in there quick. We imagine they will be sold faster than Beckham used to run in them.
