WATCH: Leicester new boy Ahmed Musa absolutely burns off Barcelona with frightening pace to score

This boy is lightning quick...

Ben Kenyon

They’re calling him the ‘new Jamie Vardy’ and you can see why.

Leicester City’s new striker Ahmed Musa is absolute lightning.

Jamie Vardy lit up the Premier League last season with his frightening pace.

He was comfortably the league’s fastest player in the first part of the season when he beat Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s consecutive goal record.

But the former Stockbridge Park Steels speedster has competition from the Nigerian who signed from CSKA Moscow for £15m over the summer.

The 23-year-old Musa was brought on as a substitute at half time during their high profile pre-season friendly against Barcelona.

With Claudio Ranieri’s men 3-0 down after some magic from Luis Suarez and Munir, Musa’s introduction made an instant impact.

He managed to turn his man near the half way line and then accelerated with a ridiculous burst of pace and burned off there Barca men to coolly rifle home.

With speed like this he’s going to cause Premier League defences some real problems this season…

The Nigerian international wasn’t done there though. He dragged Leicester back into the game with another fine goal.

The ball was played into his feet in the box and he took one touch before hammering it into the top corner. He looks a real player and an absolute snip for Ranieri…
