Diego Simeone is being touted as the next Manchester United manager, with Louis van Gaal seemingly just keeping the seat warm for about 15 potential replacements. The pressure the Dutch man is under at Old Trafford is no secret and Atletico Madrid boss, Simeone, has apparently jumped to the front of that long line to take over in Manchester. Jose Mourinho is still the bookies' favourite to take van Gaal's post whilst Pep Guardiola is still the romantic's choice - but he's also City's and Chelsea's. The La Liga-winning and Champions League final managing Diego Simeone will excite a section of United supporters however. The Sun are reporting that "Manchester United stars believe Diego Simeone will be their new boss." And we can only assume that they're not talking about jumping ship and joining Atletico. A United 'squad source' is quoted as saying: "All the betting may be on Mourinho coming in but the talk among the players is all about Simeone." Likely. The 45-year-old might not speak English but he has upset the Real-Barca monopoly in Spain and already has a Europa League and UEFA Super Cup title under his belt after just five years with the capital city outfit.
