New details emerge on foiled terror attack at Stade de France

L'Equipe have the facts

L’Equipe have cleared a few things up about the attack on the Stade de France.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday night that one of the suicide bombers at the Stade de France had a ticket for the match between France and Germany but he was turned away by security before he detonated his bomb.

The paper claimed that the terrorists’ plan was to get inside the stadium in order to blow himself in the stands up during the France v Germany game, forcing fans to evacuate where two other terrorists would detonate their bombs in order to maximise the number of casualties.

However, leading French daily L’Equipe have reported a very different version of the plot in their Sunday edition.

The paper claims that two men approached tried to enter two of the three open gates but were refused entry as they did not have a ticket for the game.

After their original planned had failed, L’Equipe reports that the two suicide bombers blew themselves before the end of the first half, one near Gate D, the other beside Gate J.

The third terrorist blew himself up at halftime next to a McDonalds, near a metro station.
