It’s been two decades since Arsene Wenger first arrived in North London.
Having arrived a relative unknown from the Japanese League, Wenger has gone on to establish himself as the longest-serving manager in the Premier League.
A lot has changed in that time, and Wenger can take a lot of credit for that. But when he took over the Gunners in 1996, he was inheriting a squad largely put together by George Graham and, to a lesser extent, Bruce Rioch.
Although he was unveiled on September 22nd, Wenger only officially took over as Arsenal boss on October 1st so his first game in charge was a 2-0 victory at Ewood Park over a Blackburn side who had claimed the Premier League title two seasons previously.
