ITV football pundit Nadia Nadim heartbroken as mother killed by a truck

Nadim had been taken off air during her coverage of Denmark’s opening World Cup game.

ITV World Cup pundit and Denmark star Nadia Nadim has announced that her mother has been killed after being hit by a truck while she was working for the broadcaster in Qatar.

Nadim wrote on social media: “Words can not describe what I’m feeling.

“I have lost the most important person in my life and it happened so sudden and unexpected. She was only 57.

“She was a warrior who had fought for every inch of her life. She didn’t give me life once but twice, and everything I/ we are is because of her.

“I have lost my home and I know nothing is gonna ever feel the same. Life is unfair and I don’t understand why her and why this way. I love you and I will see you again.”

Nadim added: “Her funeral is gone be soon… please come and show her the love, respect and prayers she deserves.”

The pundit had been working for ITV on Denmark’s opening game against Tunisia, but was taken off air during the broadcast.

The former Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain forward, who was born in Afghanistan but represents Denmark at international level where she has won over 100 caps, now plays for Racing Louisville in the US.
