Mourinho: City’s B team are better than United, Chelsea and Arsenal

Jack O'Toole

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that Manchester City’s ‘B’ team have a better chance of winning the Premier League than his previous sides.

Mourinho will join Sky Sports as a pundit this season and it didn’t take him long to ruffle feathers with the Portuguese Champions League winner claiming that only four teams have a shot of winning the Premier League title this season; Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City’s B team.

“When I looked at [Man City’s] bench yesterday, the players not involved I think even the B team could fight for the title,” he said on Sky Sports.

“I want to say that the obvious thing, we would love United & Chelsea at that level.

“In football, sometimes unpredictable things can happen, but I think we all agree, a team last season that won everything in England last season and the European champions.”

Mourinho will join Sky Sports for the foreseeable future but he did say upon joining the company that he still longs for a return to management.

“The Premier League is a special competition for me, one that takes so much hard work to win and you just can’t take your eyes off the matches every week.

“Sky Sports is the home of the Premier League and it’s a pleasure for me to join this team and help to understand and explain what happened in each match. Football is a huge passion, it means so much to the fans, and I look forward to being part of the Premier League with them until I return to my place on the touchline.”
