The last time Mo Salah played against Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos completely schooled him

Salah has improved a lot since then

Safe to say Salah has got a bit better since this match

Nobody really foresaw Mohamed Salah having such a prolific season. He’s never recorded numbers like this before. Before he arrived at Liverpool, he was a talented but wasteful and slightly inconsistent forward. As you will know, he’s been rather clinical in front of goal this season.

Salah and his Liverpool teammates will face up against Real Madrid in the Champions League final in three week’s time, and he will be hoping to exploit the gap between Sergio Ramos and Marcelo on Madrid’s left-hand side. The last time he played against Real Madrid was in 2016, for Roma. It’s not an exaggeration to say he got absolutely no joy during that game. Sergio Ramos seemed to win every tackle, anticipate every turn and prevent him from causing any problems.

Some Liverpool fans might be less optimistic about their star man being the difference maker after watching this video, but it’s worth remembering just how much his game has come on in the past year. Jürgen Klopp has worked his magic and transformed him into one of the most dangerous forwards in the world. Of course, it helps that he plays in a team set up to highlight his strengths and hide his weaknesses, but that’s just good coaching.

It won’t be as easy for Ramos this time as it was a couple of years ago.
