Mo Salah refuses to take Man of the Match award and gives it to Milner instead

Mohamed Salah was back to his best against Bournemouth this afternoon, scoring a hat-trick, but refused to accept his man of the match award

What a man.

Mohamed Salah was back to his best this afternoon as he fired Liverpool to a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth with three trademark goals.

The Egyptian King hadn’t scored in his last three games for Liverpool before today, a stark contrast to his form from last season. But he was clinical in front of goal today, leaving Asmir Begović no chance with any of his three strikes.

Steve Cook then got in on the act with a spectacular own goal for Bournemouth to make it four.

Salah was awarded the man of the match award, but refused to take the bright yellow brick, insisting on giving it to his teammate James Milner to mark his 500th appearance in the Premier League.

His act of humility went down a storm with Liverpool fans, as did the hat-trick.

Liverpool now sit top of the league, one point ahead of Manchester City, for a few hours at least.

City will have the chance to overtake Liverpool later on when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
