Uefa have dropped their investigation into Michy Batshuayi’s claim that he was racially abused by Atalanta supporters last month.

Batshuayi immediately took to Twitter following Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 tie against Atalanta to claim that he’d been subjected to monkey noises from certain fans at Reggio Emilia’s Mapei Stadium on February 22.

A Uefa investigation began after the Serie A side was charged with racist chanting but on Thursday, European football’s governing body announced that they had decided “to close the disciplinary proceedings opened for racist or discriminatory behavior”.

Batshuayi, who is on loan at Dortmund from Chelsea, responded to the dropped investigation with the below pair of tweets.

Since coming forward, Batshuayi has been inundated with racial abuse on social media and has even admitted to receiving threats.

Following last month’s game, Atalanta were also charged by Uefa for setting off fireworks, throwing objects and blocking stairways at the stadium, while Dortmund were charged with the setting-off of fireworks and throwing of objects.
