Michael Owen torn a new one for claiming that Leicester could get relegated next season

Not many agree

Michael Owen isn’t exactly gulping down the Leicester Kool-Aid.

With Leicester favourites to win the league, almost certainties for Champions League football and boasting the top scorer in the Premier League, they’ve quickly become everyone’s second team.

Many had tipped the Foxes for a relegation battle this season after their struggles under Nigel Pearson in the 2014/15 campaign which saw them finish in 14th place, only six points above the relegation zone.

And in spite of all the heroics of Claudio Ranieri at the KP Stadium, Michael Owen believes that Leicester could be in for a relegation battle next season.

To be fair to Owen, who gets far too much flak for his punditry, he does make a good point about the unpredictable and fickle nature of the Premier League but that didn’t save him from getting torn apart for saying a bad word about the ever-popular Foxes.
