The 36-year-old, who has been working as a pundit and co-commentator since calling time on his playing career three years ago, shared his thoughts on Jurgen Klopp's 'no messing' approach to getting shut of players he deems surplus to requirements.
No problems with that comment - the Liverpool boss has either sold, released or loaned out a total of 22 players this summer. Ruthless.
But having made his point, Owen used the very same tweet to add that there's 'nothing worse than having senior pros floating round not contributing'...
Before long, the tweet had attracted plenty of replies - many appearing to suggest that Owen didn't offer too much to the clubs he represented during the later years of his career.

We really want to believe that this is Michael's way of showing off his sense of humour and ability to poke fun at himself, but something tells us it definitely isn't.
Ah well, at least people have finally stopped making all those tiresome jokes about his commentary.
