Mesut Ozil’s agent hints at an unlikely move away from Emirates for Arsenal star

Turkish delight

SportsJOE

This is worrying news for Arsenal fans.

Mesut Ozil is revered by Gooners, even if the rest of the footballing fraternity don’t always appreciate the laconic German maestro’s subtle gifts.

But the player’s representation has hinted that the player’s future may not continue to be at the Emirates for very much longer.

Dr Erkut Sogut, Ozil’s agent, has disclosed that there is seriously interest in the player from Fenerbahce, and perhaps more surprisingly, a move to Turkey is under consideration.

“At Arsenal, Mesut is very successful in his performances,” explains Sogut. “It’s too early to talk right now. But you cannot know the conditions. Fenerbahce seem serious about Mesut.”

Arsenal fans may guffaw at the possibility of the 26-year-old moving to the Super Lig at his prime, but the player has close family links to Turkey and Sogut says it’s a serious possibility.

“It is difficult to predict in advance how Arsenal would respond. At the end of the season, we’ll see. However, leaving Arsenal for Fenerbahce could be a serious choice for him. They are one of Turkey’s biggest clubs.”
