What a man

Robert Redmond

Mesut Ozil: Life saver.

Premier League footballers are often stereotyped as selfish people, with too much money and time on their hands. However, no one could ever accuse Mesut Ozil of only thinking about himself.

The Arsenal playmaker has just paid for 11 life saving operations for sick Brazilian children. Just months after paying for 23 life saving operations for kids the country through his foundation.

The 26 year old has provided money to families who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford such expensive procedures, an has received an award in the country for his work.

“Even one year after we won the World Cup, I want to continue to leave a positive mark in Brazil by financing eleven more children’s operations,” Ozil.

“For me it’s very important that I carry on providing help for the children of Brazil.”

Ozil is also doing his part to repair relations between his native Germany and Brazil after the world champions destroyed Brazil 7-1 at the World Cup last summer.
