Memphis Depay didn’t get the type of greeting from the Aviva Stadium crowd he might have liked.
Depay has so far failed to live up to the £25 million transfer fee Manchester United splashed out to pry him away from PSV Eindhoven. By only managed to find the net just twice in his debut season in the Premier League, he has largely been considered as a flop by most Red Devils fans.

The 22-year-old started on the wing for the Netherlands during their international friendly against Ireland on Friday and judging by the reception he got, there was a considerable amount of Manchester United supporters in the Aviva Stadium.
There were several reports claiming that while the teams were being read out over the stadium’s PA system, Depay’s name was greeted with boos from a certain section of the crowd. If Depay was thinking he was safe from having his club career criticised by fans during an international friendly, he was apparently wrong.
There were also audible boos on the live broadcast when Depay was substituted in the second half, although that may have been a direct response to his lacklustre performance during the game.
Memphis Depay booed here at Aviva when teams read out, presumably Man Utd fans doing the booing.

Am I hearing things or did a section of the crowd boo when Memphis Depay's name was read out?
