Mbappe is using his ‘power’ for a mass cull at PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe wants to see 14 players leave the Ligue 1 champions this summer, including manager Mauricio Pochettino and fellow attacker Neymar.
The 23-year-old recently signed a new three-year deal worth £650,000-a-week with the Parisians, committing his future to the French giants by rejecting a move to Real Madrid.
Mbappe the most powerful person at PSG.
It is thought that, as part of his new deal at Le Parc des Princes, the Frenchman has the power to influence sporting decisions – and he could be set to have a major say in the club’s plans for the summer transfer window.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the World Cup winner is keen for PSG to get rid of 14 players, which includes manager Pochettino and Brazilian star Neymar.
It is also reported that Mbappe wants other first-team stars to depart, such as Mauro Icardi, Julian Draxler, Ander Herrera, Idrissa Gueye, Leandro Paredes and Thilo Kehrer.
Meanwhile, Danilo Pereira, Layvin Kurzawa, Pablo Sarabia, Juan Bernat, Colin Dagba and Sergio Rico are also thought to be in danger of being axed.
PSG boss under fire, Neymar linked with move away.
Pochettino has faced intense scrutiny in recent months, and the Argentine’s future is in serious doubt, despite being under contract until the end of next season.
Despite leading PSG to Ligue 1 glory this season, their performance in the Champions League – which saw them exit the competition at the hands of Real Madrid – has led to reports that the former Tottenham boss could be sacked.
Neymar, on the other hand, remains the most expensive player of all time after joining the French giants for £198m in 2017.
However, as reported by L’Equipe, his relationship with Mbappe has worsened in recent months, which has led to president Nasser Al-Khelaifi being willing to let him go.
Newcastle United have been linked with a move for the former Barcelona man, but Neymar reportedly has no desire in a switch to the North East.
