If the football hasn’t always entertained at this World Cup, the punditry has consistently delivered.
We’ve had Roy Keane throw salty looks at Slaven Bilic on ITV, we’ve had Eamon Dunphy proclaim that Croatian striker Mario Mandžukić should be a real handful for Croatian defender Dejan Lovren on RTE and we’ve had Phil Neville….. well we’ve had Phil Neville.
But maybe the strangest moment of the punditry World Cup has been Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill’s appearance on Fox Sports 1.
O’Neill has been doing the punditry rounds during the tournament and appeared on Fox Sports alongside host Fernando Fiore on Thursday.
Fiore had asked O’Neill to sign a ball before heading that ball to former AC Milan striker Hernan Crespo before they cut to break.
Check out the other half of MONKEANO on Fox. A serious mixed bag of pundits. @kenearlys @saveciaranmurph @SecondCaptains pic.twitter.com/apCYi4c909

Fiore then proceeded to complement O’Neill on his hair from his days as a player at Nottingham Forest before getting up off his chair and kissing him on the head after O’Neill had asked him was ‘he a bit mad?’.
This is the level of punditry we have to put up with here. Time to switch to Telemundo pic.twitter.com/Th0yscSKjp

We’ll let you judge for yourself.
