Are you nervous yet?
Martin O’Neill has given his final message to the media ahead of tomorrow night’s Euro 2016 play-off with Bosnia and it’s pretty much something every Irish fan will be pleased to hear.
The Bosnian’s are ranked 20th in the world and boast a number of player’s featuring for some of Europe’s top sides.
Ireland, at least on paper, without Jonathan Walters, Shane Long or John O’Shea face a huge test with many fans hoping that we could grab a positive result in Zenica to bring back to the Aviva On monday.
And speakaing this evening ahead of Friday’s game, the Ulsterman is very clear that Ireland have just one key objective to achieve against their Eastern European rivals for a place at Euro 2016,
“We want to stay in the tie. We talked about an away goal at the start and nturally we want to thrust everything into the game. While you can’t win it here, you don’t want to lose it, the tie I’m talking about.”
O’Neill was also asked about how the absence of key players, which now includes the injured David Meyler, will affect his approach to the game,
“We have during the course of the week we have in our mind things we feel can work but there will be adjustments. But not hopefully in our attitude to the game, but adjustments in personnel and maybe in style.”
“In two weeks time no one will who is injured. It would be great to have the players available but it doesn’t matter now, we have to play very strongly, whoever starts and whoever comes on.”
