Move over Martin Odegaard, there’s a new Norwegian hot shot on the scene.
Martin Odegaard became Norwegian football’s youngest ever debutant in April 2014. Little over a year later and that record has been broken by 14-year-old young gun Kreshnik Krasniqi.
Krasniqi was 14 years, five months and three days old when he Norwegian first division debut on Monday. He may have only played the final four minutes of the 3-1 Norwegian victory against Nest-Sotra, but the teen thinks his first game should give him the confidence to move on to bigger and better things.
‘It was really fun to be involved. This gives me more confidence. I had decided to do things the best possible way.’
Like Odegaard, who signed for Real Madrid in January, Krasniqi dreams of one day playing in La Liga. However, he has his sights set on another Spanish club.
‘My team is Barcelona. It’s a small dream to play there.’
