Mario Gotze’s left boot, which won the World Cup for Germany, has raised a whopping €2million for the German charity event – “A Heart for Children.”
The Bayern Munich midfielder announced last month that he was set to donate the boot to the charity that aims to help disadvantaged children.
Gotze came on as a second half substitute for Germany in the World Cup final against Argentina and scored the winner in the 113th minute, which we think might have added a little bit of value to the footwear.
The 22-year-old told Bild: “That is overwhelming, I would have never dreamed of such a figure.”
“Two million is such a huge sum, the good thing is that it’s for a good cause and not just for a boot.”
