Manchester City could be able to call on Kevin De Bruyne in the very near future after the club revealed the Belgian has returned to training.
The former Chelsea player has not featured for City since injuring his knee in their Capital One Cup semi-final second leg with Everton.
In De Bruyne’s absence, City have lost successive league games to Leicester City, Tottenham and Liverpool, seriously damaging their chances of lifting the Premier League trophy.
But with City looking likely to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals following their 3-1 win at Dynamo Kiev, De Bruyne could well have an important role to play for Manuel Pellegrini in the season’s remaining weeks.
Fabian Delph and Samir Nasri could also return after the international break, however Nasri is no longer eligible for Europe, having been replaced in the Champions League squad by Kelechi Iheanacho.
