Manuel Neuer was never one for sticking with traditional positions.
The goalkeeper-turned-sweeper is a rascal for coming off his line… and staying there.
He’s well known for cleaning up at the back, cutting out over-the-top balls, and playing a bit himself but he has let it go to his head we think.
Alright, it must get boring for a goalkeeper playing against Gibraltar but Neuer took his loneliness to the extreme tonight during the world champions’ 4-0 victory when he decided to plant himself in central midfield. We’d love to see a heat map of his position on the field.
He’s like the kid at school who is class in goals but he just hates playing there so takes off out the field whenever he can.
If you’re 4-0 up against Gibraltar, not much else Germany’s Manuel Neuer could really do… http://t.co/TTjNSN0rY7 pic.twitter.com/35dFDluWHf
