Manchester United’s new shoes made for walking to top of financial charts

They're the real heroes

There may be doubts about how they are strutting their stuff on the pitch but off it Manchester United can’t put a foot wrong.

Forecast to earn more than £500million in revenue in 2016, the club today announced their 20th commercial partner.

So, when Wayne Rooney and the gang are standing around sipping Casillero del Diablo (wine partner) or Aperol Spritz (spirit partner) or Singha (beer partner) they will be doing do in their new HEROES (footwear partner).

When Louis Van Gaal is impatiently tapping his heel, checking the time on his Bulova (timekeeping partner), the heel he will be tapping will be a HEROES heel.

But, if they’re cooking up some delicious grub from Nissin Foods Group (noodle partner) or mixing some Kansai Paint (paint partner) they had better not be wearing their HEROES, they’re designer shoes for Christ’s sake.

“Football is all about teamwork and to play like a team it’s important to look like a team,” said Manchester United group managing director Richard Arnold on the club’s official website.

“Our partnership with HEROES will not only provide our first-team squad with well-designed and well-made formal shoes, it will also allow our loyal fan base to be included in that team spirit by wearing the same brand worn by our players.”

Look to the away end at Vicarage Road on Saturday week to see the travelling faithful rocking the football jersey and designer runner look. Well, they will if they are loyal fans.

The club pay the six children of owner Malcolm Glazer a dividend of £2.5million each per annum.
