Manchester United’s choice as LvG’s successor may not go down well at Old Trafford

Oh dear

Another Sunday after  a Chelsea defeat and Jose Mourinho is still the Blues manager.

Somehow the axe has not yet fallen on Mourinho as Chelsea boss despite last night’s 1-0 loss to Stoke being the worst league run the Portuguese has ever endured as a football boss.

The ex-Real Madrid man has now seen his side slump to 16th place in the Premier League, amid increasing pressure that his second spell at Stamford Bridge is about to come to a premature end.

But Jose won’t be out of work long, and according to reports this morning, his next job could be up the road in Manchester.

According to French new outlet Le10, and the Daily Star this morning, the Glazers are looking to replace Louis van Gaal next summer, and with Jurgen Klopp off the market, Pep Guardiola likely to end up in the blue half of Manchester, the club are looking to London for the Dutchman’s successor.

Mourinho has told a famous tale of how he cried when he was told that David Moyes got the Manchester United job previously when Alex Ferguson retired, while he has never made any secret of his ambition to aat Old Trafford which has the club’s owners to his willingness to replace van Gaal.

It’s believed the club’s American owners are not fully convinced LvG is the man to restore the club’s’fortunes as they have endured a difficult start to the campaign in front of goal and fans vocally unhappy with the team’s style.
