The tradition of all Premier League games kicking off at the same time on the final day of the season will not be so today as Manchester United’s crucial home tie with Bournemouth has been abandoned.
At about 2.45 pm, an evacuation took place in sections of Old Trafford due to a Code Red warning being announced over the stadium PA.
Security staff at the stadium claim that “an incident” is being dealt with and it subsequently emerged that police had found a suspect package at the ground.
Kick-off is delayed at Old Trafford after a suspect package was found in the North West Quadrant. Police are inspecting, more to follow.
