Manchester United have swooped to bring in a highly rated youth player from Ajax as Jose Mourinho continues to re-shape the club from top to bottom.
The Portuguese took the top job at Old Trafford in the summer after Louis van Gaal was sacked following a two-year spell in charge that saw him win the FA Cup but fail to make the top four – or excite supporters with his style of football.
Since arriving Mourinho has been busy in the transfer market, snapping up Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer, while shelling out £30m a piece on defender Eric Bailly and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and a world record £89m on Paul Pogba.
But the ex-Chelsea chief has also been looking at the youth set-up at the club, and this week began his restructuring there, snapping up former Ajax youngster Millen Baars, according to reports in Holland.

The 16-year-old is happy playing either wide right, wide left, or through the middle of midfield and is very highly rated.
He captained Ajax’s B team last season but has now linked up with fellow Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Daley Blind and Memphis Depay at Old Trafford – though he will be hoping to make more of a success of his United career than the latter has so far.
