The 19-year-old only broke into the Porto first-team this season and played out-of-position at left-back during Porto’s Champions League tie away to Liverpool earlier this season.
Dalot has been capped by Portugal at every age group from U15 to U21 level and made his first team debut for Porto in a 6–0 away win over Lusitano G.C in October of last year.
He was included in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the UEFA European Under-19 Championship teams of the tournament and he won the Primeira Liga title in his first season with the club.
Elsewhere it seems the first of United’s first team squad to leave will be Matteo Darmian. The Italian international arrived from Torino in 2015 but has found his opportunities increasingly limited over the last two seasons.
Speculation has linked him with a return to Turin, only this time to his former club’s city rivals, Juventus. Further reports from Italy now claim this transfer could be imminent, with Football Italia stating that Darmian will ink a five-year contract with the Serie A champions in the coming days.
