It could be a busy January at Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal is likely to try and add some attacking verve to his side this month, as Manchester United try and keep in touch with the challengers for the Premier League.
There may also be a few exits, with Victor Valdes set to finally end his English nightmare, and a number of other younger players leaving on loan in search of first team action.
However it seems that one player who has struggled to get into the club’s congested midfield this term will not be allowed leave the club, even on loan.
Two Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica, are reporting today that AC Milan have inquired about the possibility of taking the Belgian Marouane Fellaini on loan this month but were told no deal.
They had initially asked for a permanent deal but Manchester United’s estimation of the player’s continued worth is a major issue with any deal likely to be in excess of €20million.
The 28-year old is understood to be one of the club’s highest earners and any loan deal would require the Serie A club to pay some, if not all of his pay packet while away from England.
The player is valued at approximately €25million and could still leave in the summer, but not at that price for AC Milan.
