What a signing he would be.
Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli side are famed for their quick passing, calmness under pressure and fast attacking moves.
A big part of that is down to Jorginho, the holding midfielder, behind Marek Hamšik and Allan. His role as the number 6, or 4 if you prefer, is very significant in linking everything together. In many ways he is the fulcrum of the team. It would be a huge blow to lose a player of his quality, but that possibility beckons.
According to Claudia Garcia Rai Sport, the player’s entourage have arrived in Manchester to discuss a move to Man United. The Italy international would add another layer of security in front of United’s defence, reducing the burden on Nemanja Matić to protect the back four as well as take on the responsibility of distributing the ball.

A defensively minded midfielder who can distribute the ball well, he would replace United legend Michael Carrick, who is retiring at the end of the season to join the coaching staff at the club.
Should United complete the signing of Jorginho, whether that be this month or in the summer, a partnership of him and Matić would do even more to unleash Paul Pogba in front of them, taking on more defensively responsibility, allowing him more freedom to attack.
Napoli will not want to lose the 26-year-old, but money talks. And United have lots of it.
