Manchester United’s plans to hire Jose Mourinho have met serious competition

So does that mean van Gaal stays?

The chosen one – what’s that in French?

Jose Mourinho has been touted as the next Manchester United manager for about as long as Louis van Gaal has been struggling at Old Trafford but there appears to be a major road block.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested and are believed to have made an approach for the Portuguese man.

Laurent Blanc is cruising to another Ligue 1 title with PSG but the manager’s failure to advance in the Champions League has seen him come under pressure.

Mourinho has won the European title with both Porto and Inter Milan – he’s also won league titles with those clubs as well as Chelsea and Real Madrid.

All the talk was that he was to replace Louis van Gaal in the Manchester United hotseat at the end of the season and, Jesus, there have already been about 74 different stories about him signing players for the club already.

Then different schools of thought emerged about what kind of manager the former Chelsea boss would become at United.

However, with Sky Sports News reporting that PSG have approached him, that could give Mourinho some foot for thought. Especially if United continue to stall.

Just no getting rid of Louis.
