The legendary manager was banking a whopping salary from his post-management role as Global Ambassador for Manchester United

Alex Ferguson took up the very lucrative position at the end of the 2012/2013 season after stepping down from the management game. This marked an end to his 27 years of managerial service at Old Trafford.

The Scotsman earned a staggering €2.9m from the club between October 2013 and June 2014 as an ambassador for the club.

To put the size of his post-managerial career pay packet into context, Bobby Charlton was also paid by United for the same period for consultancy services. However, the World Cup winner only took home a salary of €140,000 for the entire gig.
