“It [a lack of goals] can be solved with money but also on the training pitch,” Van Gaal said ahead of today’s game against Swansea Ctiy at Old Trafford.”
United are without a win in eight games, and so short up-front they recalled striker Will Keane from a loan spell with Preston North End.
Van Gaal believes United’s biggest problem at the moment is scoring goals, and wants to address the issue this month.
“Scoring goals is a quality. We have that quality but at this moment there is a lack of confidence at the right time or we need to buy another striker. It is always like that.”
However, the problem for Van Gaal is that there appears to be very few available options.
According to The Daily Express, United accept prime targets such as Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku won’t be available this month. While it will also be difficult to sign players such as Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez or Jamie Vardy during the current window.
It’s a pity you let Javier Hernandez go, isn’t it Louis?
