Manchester United loanee will definitely regret his most recent tattoo

What could go wrong? This. This could go wrong

We’ve all heard stories about tattoos that people wish they hadn’t agreed to.

Whether it’s the name of an ex or just a shoddy piece of art, poor decisions are often reflected on inked skin but they’re seldom as costly as the latest effort from Guillermo Varela.

The Manchester United full-back, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, didn’t think twice about getting his latest piece of work done but, boy oh boy, did it turn out to be a bad decision.

Varela reportedly went against his club’s advice and sat for a tattoo which has since resulted in inflammation and ruled the 24-year-old out of Eintracht Frankfurt’s DFB Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

And that’s not even the worst of it.

Eintracht were reportedly eyeing up a permanent deal for the right-back, who made 10 appearances for the German side this season but after Varela disobeyed the orders of manager Niko Kovac, that offer will no longer be on the table.

“His behaviour was reckless and hurts the team,” sporting executive Fredi Bobic said in a statement on the club’s official website, via ESPN. “Guillermo’s path at Eintracht ends here. The club can’t put up with a player acting against the coach’s and doctors’ instructions.

“We were already considering extending his loan. But that’s naturally no longer an issue. Guillermo will be suspended with immediate effect.”

Tattoos are for life, kids.
