Manchester United legends all agree on the best teammate they’ve had

"As a player, he was on the same wavelength as you"

Robert Redmond

This wasn’t an easy task, but the three came to an agreement.

Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Phil Neville were recently asked to choose their “best ever teammate” by Sky Sports, and they had a lot to pick from.

From Eric Cantona to Roy Keane, Bryan Robson to Paul Scholes, Ruud van Nistelrooy to Cristiano Ronaldo, the trio played alongside some brilliant footballers for Manchester United.

When set a similar task, Scholes opted for Giggs.

And to begin with, Giggs opted for Scholes and Ronaldo, Phil said Giggs and Ronaldo. Gary opted for Scholes, Giggs and Keane.

When pushed to choose one player, the trio went for Scholes.

According to Gary, Scholes’ “awareness and controlling of a game” made him stand apart from his peers, and Phil also complimented Scholes’ passing.

“As a player, he was on the same wavelength as you,” Giggs said.

“You just never had to break stride with his passes whether it be 10 yards, whether it be 40 yards. He was just always pinpoint. Perfect.”
