Like Rocky, Manchester United legend Edwin Van Der Sar is going to strap on those gloves one last time

It's been five years since Edwin Van Der Sar called time on his playing career... or at least that's what we thought.

The Dutch goalkeeper, whose penalty shoot-out save from Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka won the European Cup for Manchester United in 2008, is set to make an unexpected comeback this weekend. The 45-year-old Van Der Sar has agreed to make a one-off appearance for an amateur side VV Noordwijk after their goalkeeper picked up a knee injury at the weekend, according to Dutch outlet AD. After that, it appears Van Der Sar will return to his current role as a director at his first club, Ajax.
