Manchester United fans are all saying the same thing about Guardiola’s sarcastic ref applause

They were always going to pounce on this...

You know what there’s not been enough of this week? Lots and lots of talk about the way high profile Premier League managers conduct themselves on the sidelines.

Six days ago, it was all about Jose Mourinho – sent off during Manchester United’s league meeting with West Ham for booting a water bottle in protest at Paul Pogba being booked for diving. As a result, he was banned from the touchline when the two sides met again in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

At the time, many a United supporter claimed that such a punishment wouldn’t have been dished out for some of the other high profile bosses in the Premier League.

On Saturday, as Chelsea’s 3-1 victory at Manchester City entered its final minutes, Pep Guardiola was seen sarcastically applauding a decision by referee Anthony Taylor.

With the decision to punish Mourinho leaving a sour taste in their mouths, many of those United fans that had tuned in for the match were quick to pounce on the incident…

Thankfully, no water bottles were harmed in the incident.

Soon after, Eden Hazard scored the game’s final goal before Sergio Aguero was given a straight red for his attempted ‘tackle’ on David Luiz. To rub further salt into City’s wounds, Fernandinho was also sent off after clashing with Cesc Fabregas in the melee that followed Aguero’s red.
