Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
As the full-time whistle blew at Old Trafford, it’s very likely that not even the most critical Manchester United supporter would care about the performance levels of Mourinho’s men against Anderlecht.
That’s what a dramatic winner can do.
Despite taking the lead through Mkhitaryan’s goal, the hosts were pegged back after Sofiane Hanni scored for the Belgian side.
Even before Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a potentially season-ending injury, United’s top scorer was enduring an uncharacteristically poor game as Mourinho’s side struggled in front of goal , a trait that has been all too common this season.
We’re accustomed to seeing Marcus Rashford grab the headlines in dramatic fashion – very few footballers announced themselves to the world in the way that the England international did last season – but despite his reputation for heroics, Manchester United fans were left with no doubt about who their saviour was yet again.
Given Rashford’s meteoric rise, it’s easy to forget the fact that he’s still only 19 years old.
The gifted prodigy has scored nine goals in 43 matches this season, but despite his youth and relative inexperience as a professional, United fans already regard him as one of the most important players in that team.
Granted, no side should ever be relying on a teenager to be their ‘main man’ and get them out of trouble, but in the case of United and their supporters, they know that they’ve got a special talent on their hands.
4 – Marcus Rashford has had a hand in four goals in his last four apps for Man Utd (all comps), as many as in his previous 33. Resurgence.

Marcus Rashford is a prince in a team of too many buck-passers and hiders

Marcus Rashford is brilliant. Not the finished article by any means but the talent he possesses is exciting for both England and United.

If one man deserves to be on the winning side here it's Rashford. Not had his scoring boots on (at least so far) but the tools are all there

There's plenty of 19-year-olds whose heads would have gone down a long time ago in this game. Not Rashford. Best Utd player here by a mile
