Stephen Howson was a man on a mission.
City tour to see what trophies they got. In a United shirt. On Derby weekend, coz that’s what we do. #ManchesterIsRED pic.twitter.com/gU593twJk7

The Manchester United fan made it his business to don a retro Red Devils jersey and take the tour of Manchester City’s stadium, live-tweeting the whole way.
Let’s do this. Who wants to see me singing 20k empty seats once I’m inside? #ManchesterIsRed pic.twitter.com/MPhcp0KceU

They made me wear this. Slags. pic.twitter.com/Y8l3FmPMqg

Guy leading the tour has just told us that the new academy is massive. Is he on a wind up too? #ManchesterIsRed

For the weekend that’s in it, Stephen attempted to rile up City fans by mocking the lack of trophies on display before the live-tweeting promptly stopped.
So this is it? There’s more pairs of boots than trophies…. #ManchesterIsRed pic.twitter.com/i0eQBRXo8R

Phones dying. They’re still waffling about the commonwealth games

But afterwards, the rogue explained that he had been asked by an official to stop his shenanigans.
Phone died. Only just got back to charge it. Got rumbled on the tour. Got pulled aside and told to behave. #ManchesterIsRed

Speaking to Manchester Evening News, he said:
“They came up to me about two-thirds of the way through and told me to stopped tweeting.
“I didn’t think what I was doing was inappropriate, but luckily for them my phone had already died. I was taking the mickey asking them where their Champions League trophies were.
“My twitter feed is now an absolute mess. I thought it would get a response and it’s mainly City fans telling me I’m fat, sad and obsessed.”
Maybe not the safest idea if you’re looking to wind rival fans up but it’s hard not to admire the commitment.
